Jazz Dance/Hip Hop With Yukino "Kino" McHugh
Yukino "Kino" McHugh is an Australian based performing artist and is well known from the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance", where she was one of the top 20 Finalists.
She was the last standing female Hip Hop dancer on the show during which time she worked with Paula Abdul and Robbie Williams.
Yukino was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to also choreograph a segment for Paula Abdul in a tribute routine on the show.
After the show she has been busy working in the industry featuring as a dancer on X- Factor for guest artists - Aston Marrygold and Jason Derulo. She also featured on a Film Clip "Carry" by Sietta as one of the lead Dancer/Actress.
She was also the choreographer for the film clip, which aired on MTV, Channel V and Rage. The film clip was nominated as "The Best Dance Film" at the Dances with Film Festival in Los Angeles, USA at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood where she was invited to attend.
Kino was a successful recipient for the AUSDANCE - DAIR residency program in 2016. She was granted 2 weeks development for her work in progress titled - "Nothing must be Something" which involved 2 Sydney contemporary based dancers and 2 Queensland Hip Hop based dancers.
You may find her on MTV, as she featured as a dancer for Music Videos - See right through me by Set mo, Amber by KLP and Go by AIYA which she featured as a lead Actress and Dancer, Yukino also choreographed the Film Clip along side Travers Ross. MTV and Adidas also recently invited Yukino to feature on their MTV Fit Series as a Dance instructor for GG Magree.
Kino is classically trained and has taken workshops at the infamous Brent Street in Sydney and more recently in Perth and Broome! She teaches Hip Hop, Contemporary and Commercial Jazz and loves to fuse the various styles.
She is currently working in Europe and about to perform in productions in Belgium! We can’t wait for her to return home!
